State Seal of Arizona

Arizona state seal

“The Great Seal of the State of Arizona” was designed by E.E Motter, a newspaper artist. The outer circle of the seal mentions the title of the seal and the date on which Arizona became a state in 1912.

The seal shows a mountain range symbolizing the terrain of Arizona. Other symbols such as a dam reservoir, irrigated fields, orchards, and cattle represent the agriculture of Arizona while a miner holding mining tools and a quartz mill represent the State’s mining sector. The state motto ”Ditat Deus” meaning ”God enriches” is written on top of the seal. According to Arizona law, the keeper of the seal is the secretary of state of Arizona, and it is illegal to use the seal anywhere else other than the state of Arizona.
