State Seal of Missouri
The ”Secretary of the State of Missouri” is the official custodian of ”The Great Seal of Missouri”. The seal was designed by Robert William Wells, a lawyer, and jurist from Jefferson City. The ”Great Seal of the United States” graces the center-right of the seal of Missouri. The two native bears represent bravery and strength. The crescent is a symbol of the Virgin Mary. These are surrounded by the motto ”United we stand, divided we fall”. The seal also features the state’s motto ”Let the good of the people be the supreme law”.
