New Jersey State Seal

The Seal of New Jersey has changed little since Pierre Eugene du Sinitiere designed it in 1777. New Jersey’s agricultural heritage is symbolized by a shield and three plows on the seal; the helmet represents sovereignty while the horse is New Jersey’s state animal. The woman on the left is ”Liberty” while the one on the right is the “Roman Goddess of Agriculture”. The motto of the state of New Jersey ”Liberty and Prosperity” is also featured on the seal.
