known as the “Aloha State” by a 1959 legislative act (Hawai Rev. Stat. 5-7). The same year Hawaii became a state. HI is the Two-letter or Postal Abbreviation and Hawaii is the Traditional or Standard Abbreviation for the State of Hawaii.
