Idaho State Seal

State Seal of Idaho

Idaho State Seal

The present seal of the state of Idaho was designed by Emma Edwards Green, making her the only woman in US history to design a state seal.

The seal appears in its original form on the Idaho flag. It depicts the natural resources of Idaho such as wildlife, farmlands, forests, and mines. The woman and the miner represent justice, equality, and liberty. The shield has various symbols representing agriculture, timber industry, horticulture as well as the Snake River. The motto of the state of Idaho ”Esto Perpetua” meaning ”Let it be perpetual” can also be seen on the seal.
